Kia’s Latest EV Models

Kia’s Latest EV Models

A red 2023 Kia EV6 is shown driving on a winding road.

Technology has always been one way for businesses to gain an advantage over the competition. Companies that are on the cutting edge tend to be the ones that can deliver more benefits to their customers while keeping costs down. This is certainly true in the automotive industry lately. There has been a technological revolution, with automakers that provide hybrid and electric vehicles gaining the upper hand over brands that haven’t changed with the times. One of the leaders of electrification is Kia. That’s why Kia should be at the top of your list if you are looking for electric vehicles for sale.

Kia has come out with a lineup of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that is the envy of most other brands. This is because Kia leveraged the know-how it gained by developing hybrid cars to produce a series of new BEVs that we are proud to offer at Sherwood Kia. When you stop at our dealership, you will be amazed by the three new EV models we have to offer. Each has something unique to offer drivers. One thing they all have in common is their exceptional range. When you drive one, you can wave to your friends spending money on gasoline because you aren’t going to need gas anymore.

2023 Kia EV6

Kia’s EV6 is a compact electric SUV. This model is great for young families or folks who need an economical vehicle for when the grandkids stay over. It has exceptional range with no emissions as a result of its battery power. It is also surprisingly roomy for a compact model.

You can find the 2023 Kia EV6 with four different powertrain options. The base model has a single electric motor located in its rear axle. This is powered by a 58 kWh battery pack to deliver 167 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain option will give you a rated range of 373 km on a fully charged battery.

Kia also offers the EV6 with rear-wheel drive and a longer-range battery. This version also has a single motor in the rear axle but uses a more powerful battery. The 77.4 kWh battery pack will give you 225 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. By selecting the larger battery, you are able to enjoy an estimated 499 km of range on this model.

Finally, there are two all-wheel drive versions of the 2023 EV6. They have two electric motors, one for each axle, and are powered by a 77.4 kWh battery. The first version will give you 320 hp and an impressive 446 lb-ft of torque. This has an equally impressive range of 454 km. The second all-wheel drive option is the sporty EV6 GT, which has more output but less range. This gives you an incredible 772 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque, with a range of 332 km. This is the one to choose if you are someone with a real need for speed.

Each of the 2023 Kia EV6 models comes equipped with the Kia multimedia interface system on a 31 cm touchscreen. This will help you and your passengers stay connected with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as make hands-free calls and texts. The 2023 Kia EV6 has a base MSRP of $50,566, making it affordable for most budgets.[a]

What happens when you take a popular model and make a BEV version? Kia gave us the answer to this question when it introduced the Niro EV in 2019. Kia took its popular subcompact hybrid SUV and gave it an all-electric version. The results have been exciting, to say the least.

The 2023 Kia Niro EV has been fully redesigned. A complete remodelling of the vehicle has resulted in a roomier and sportier model. It also provides more range than the prior generation. All three trims feature a single electric motor in the front axle. This is powered by a 64.8 kWh battery that is easily rechargeable at a DC fast charging station. In fact, you can recharge the battery in as little as 43 minutes.

The Niro EV’s motor provides 201 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque, giving it excellent acceleration. You can get a rated 407 km of range on a fully charged battery. This makes the Niro EV an excellent choice if you want to go on a road trip. As with all of Kia’s EVs, you won’t spend a penny on gasoline.

There are three different trim levels of the 2023 Niro EV. The entry model is the Premium with an MSRP of $44,995.[a] The Premium+ and Limited add more features, like a heat pump that improves the range in cold weather by providing more efficient climate control. The Premium+ also features cloth and synthetic leather seats, while the Limited has such comfort and convenience features as full synthetic leather seats, heated rear seats, and paddle shifters. All 2023 Kia Niro trims have front heated seats that you and your passengers are sure to enjoy on cold mornings here in Alberta.

Kia has improved the interior of the Niro EV. It now provides an impressive 1,053 mm of front-row legroom and 938 mm of legroom in the back. It also has 646 L of storage space in the trunk that can easily be expanded to 1,805 L by folding down the rear row of seats. This makes the 2023 Niro EV one of the roomiest subcompact SUVs on the market. You also get the Kia multimedia interface with a 26 cm touchscreen. This includes integrated navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

2024 Kia EV9

What has three rows, is all-electric, and looks great? If your answer is the 2024 Kia EV9, then you are right. The new EV9 represents the latest step in the development of the BEV. By giving Alberta drivers the option to buy an electric three-row SUV, Kia has opened up the EV market to drivers with large families. The EV9 provides enough room to seat up to seven passengers comfortably. There are also USB-C outlets placed throughout the interior to allow all of your passengers to keep their devices charged during your journey.

There are two different powertrain options to choose from on the Kia EV9. The standard option has a single electric motor in the rear axle and is powered by a 99.8 kWh battery, giving it 201 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The second option is an all-wheel drive model. This has dual motors, with one for each axle, giving the EV9 torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. It also produces an incredible 379 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, propelling the Kia EV9 from zero to 100 km/h in just five seconds.

The designers at Kia have done a great job of providing space inside the Kia EV9. There is plenty of legroom in all three rows, making all rows usable. In addition, Kia offers an available “Relaxation Mode” on the EV9, with power-operated leg rests. There are also 2,320 L of cargo space behind the first row, allowing you to use your Kia EV9 to move anything you need to bring along.

Kia continues to push the envelope with the technology in the EV9. In addition to the standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that Kia features on all its EV models, the EV9 offers two new features. Advanced Highway Driving Assist uses lidar-based technology to maintain a predetermined distance from the vehicle in front of you while also assisting with lane changes. Lane Following Assist 2 keeps your EV9 centred in its lane on roads with visible lane markers. These tools will help keep you and your passengers safe while reducing driver fatigue, a common cause of traffic accidents.
